I particularly enjoyed looking at Joyce’s sketches, as I always find it interesting to see how other artists work through their ideas and develop their drawings before creating the final pieces. Seeing her sketches made the exhibition feel more personal and gave me a better understanding of her creative process.
Her paintings, however, were what really stood out to me. I found them phenomenal, especially because they had an almost psychedelic, dream-like quality. I loved the use of bright colours and the way she distorted the faces and figures, as it created a slightly surreal and unusual feeling. I found myself really drawn into the paintings because they felt imaginative and expressive, while also being quite strange and intriguing.
